Age Concern Hampshire has appointed a long-term local resident as its first Village Agent for Wellow.
The Village Agent scheme, supported by Hampshire County Council, provides information and support to enable older people to maintain their independence and maximize their safety so that they may enjoy their later lives in their own homes and communities.
Meic is a solicitor who is retiring from a distinguished career serving local authorities across the country, including Winchester, Basingstoke & Deane and the New Forest National Park Authority.
He has previously been a Scout Leader in Wellow as well as being serving on the Wellow Village Hall and Wellow Twinning Association management committees.
“I’m looking forward to loving my later life in Wellow,” said Meic, “I have a lot to learn about the services and support that are available so I will be able to learn from others who are in the same position as me and make that information well known to older people in the parish.”
